This is a unique experience
There are numerous reasons why my Portraiture Commissions are different from commercial portraits.
First, our work will be a collaboration. All of my figure work is done in collaboration with fine art photographer Ginni Savalli. This provides you the security and comfort of working with a couple, not just one person. Ginni is an accomplished photographer and working together creates a wider dynamic range of images (and interpretations) to choose from. To see some of Ginni’s work, click here.

Second, we do not use canned poses or corny sets. Each portrait session becomes a collaboration with the model(s), creating images unique to you. Think of the process as sculpting you in light – it is not a one-size-fits-all process, it is a creative process distinctive to you.

Third, our work is done from a fine art perspective, not a commercial one. Our Intimate Body Portraiture work takes its inspiration from our fine art figure projects, not the current fads from commercial portraiture. Also we do not “mass produce,” we offer only a limited number of appointments per year so that we can focus our creative energies on your portraiture work.

Fourth, you will receive one of a kind, hand made, fine art prints – not machine made digital prints. We work exclusively in black and white, shoot on film (which we develop ourselves), craft each print by hand in our darkrooms, then carefully mat and mount each print ourselves. Your portrait will be a piece of artwork, not just a picture.
~
Fifth, we strive to make your portraiture session a fun and memorable experience. A session takes several hours, we take numerous breaks with refreshments, we try several different sets, play music you bring, and keep the atmosphere relaxed and creative. People are often surprised with how confortable they feel in the studio in very little time. Whether you are an individual or a couple, we are confident you will enjoy your Intimate Portraiture experience.
